HIM tribute poem

We walked through the Phantom Gate together.

Once we crossed we ripped out the wings of a butterfly.

Together we have seen the Face of God

as we were drunk on shadows and lost in a lie.

We have endured heartaches every moment

and we've been scared to death of those heartkillers

that are out there.

We have sung about The Sacrament being someone else,

when in reality

The Sacrament really is you.

We have taken serpent rides together

And then we were sleepwalking past hope

at the right time even though it felt wrong.

Just when my sadness felt like the beginning of the end,

your music forbode a sense of impending happiness.

Your beautiful songs felt like a resurrection of love and happiness that I have felt

in Joy and Sorrow.

After feeling that my heart had salt in its wounds,

hearing you say "I'm here for you" alleviated that pain.

You and I shared the same pain as love simply said no.

In the end, your beautiful music was the answer.

With that beautiful music,

you guys were there for me when no one else was.

You guys were there to kill my loneliness whenever I felt alone.

It was like having five friends there for me willing to help.

It was like saying "been there, done that." or

"I know how you feel, I understand." and were always happy to help.

To me and many others,

you guys are like spiritual friends,

lovers,

brothers,

a band of angels sent from heaven to earth.

All I wanted to say was...

Thank you for being the best band ever.

Thank you for being there for me when no one else was.

Thank you for your beautiful music

and your beautiful lyrics.

I love you guys so much.
